Ellis joins Ameris Bank as commercial banker

Darren Ellis recently joined Ameris Bank as a commercial banker. He will focus on Ameris Bank’s Thomasville market, working to further develop commercial banking relationships through the growth of business deposits and loans.

“Darren has established himself as a proven leader throughout his career in the banking industry,” said Thomasville market President Austen Carroll. “We are excited that he has chosen to join our team and look forward to advancing our commercial business relationships through his expertise and guidance.”

Prior to joining Ameris Bank, Ellis served in various commercial banking and credit positions, most recently as senior credit analyst at Renasant Bank.

Ellis earned his bachelor of arts in finance from Valdosta State University and his masters of business administration from Mississippi State University. He and his wife Nikki have three children, Ethan, Emma and Jude.

Ameris Bank, headquartered in Moultrie, has nearly $7 billion in assets. Ameris Bancorp, the parent company of Ameris Bank, is traded on the NASDAQ under ABCB. Ameris Bank is focused on creating a distinctly different way of helping customers manage and make the most of their money, offering a full range of services, including traditional banking and lending products and solutions, treasury and cash management services, and mortgage and refinancing solutions.
