THOMASVILLE — A Valdosta man is facing multiple traffic charges after being involved in a high speed chase that ended in Thomasville.

On July 17, at approximately 7:34 a.m., Valdosta Police tried to perform a routine traffic stop on an aggressive driver, but the car fled the scene at a high speed of approximately 130 mph.

The suspect continued to flee into Brooks County where Brooks County Sheriff’s deputies also tried to stop the vehicle but it continued to flee into Thomas County. 

Keith Drawdy, Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division assistant commander, said Thomas County deputies were able to slow the suspect down using stop sticks. 

“He hit the stop sticks and blew out a couple tires on the vehicle. The vehicle continues to roll into the City of Thomasville,” he said. 

After stalling on the side of the road and attempting to continue to flee from the scene on foot, deputies arrested the suspect in front of Hardees.

A large sum of cash was recovered from the suspect by deputies and placed into evidence until investigators find out more information. 

Dalvin Williams, 23, now faces 12 traffic charges, including driving without a license, reckless driving and speeding. 

“There will be warrants taken out for felony fleeing and eluding,” Drawdy said. 

Drawdy added there are no drug charges at this time.

Williams also had prior warrants out of Mount Vernon, Ga.

No one was harmed during the chase.
