Rodgers named head coach at Cook
ADEL, Ga. — A former Suwannee High head football coach is headed to South Georgia.
Jamie Rodgers, who coached the Bulldogs from 2012-15, was unanimously approved as the Cook High School head coach Monday night by the Cook County Board of Education.
Rodgers led SHS to a 31-15 mark in his four seasons at the helm, including a 12-2 mark in 2014 when the Bulldogs reached a state semifinal.
He left SHS following a 9-3 finish in 2015 to return home to Macclenny to lead Baker County. The Wildcats went 29-9 in three seasons under Rodgers’ tutelage, winning a district title all three seasons. Baker County finished as Class 5A state runner-up in 2017 with a 13-2 record.
At Cook, Rodgers replaces Bobby Jones, who was 21-24 in four seasons. The Hornets finished 3-8 last year, their worst record since a 1-9 mark in 1997.
