Tift County 4-H members succeed at Cloverleaf Project Achievement

HOUSTON — Twenty-five Tift County 4-H members  were awarded for their outstanding work at Cloverleaf Project Achievement on March 2.  Hosted at Mossy Creek Middle School, the event attracted nearly 350 5th and 6th grade Southwest Georgia students. 

“I am extremely proud of our youth for their extraordinary accomplishments at Cloverleaf District Project Achievement,” said Ashley Carroll, Tift County 4-H agent.

, “This event requires the students to write, create, and deliver a speech or demonstration on one of over 60 topic areas.  Oftentimes it is a child’s first experience in public speaking.” said Miles A. Drummond, Tift Co. AmeriCorps specialist.

Fifth grade participants from Tift County 4-H included:

 • Abigail Staples from Matt Wilson, who placed 1st in Agricultural Awareness;

• Zierra Brown from Matt Wilson, who placed 3rd in General Recreation;

• Abbey Harris from Tiftarea Academy, who placed 1st in General Science;

• Philycia Hamilton from Matt Wilson, who placed 4th in Historic People;

• Yomar Castillo from Charles Spencer, who placed 4th in Horses;

• Sebastian Martinez from Charles Spencer, who placed 1st in Marine and Coastal Ecology;

• Anna Lupo from Charles Spencer, who placed 1st in Performing Arts Instrumental;

• Anna Windmoller from Matt Wilson, who placed 1st in Rabbits;

• Aiden Scott from Matt Wilson, who placed 1st in Sports Individual;

• Jaymarian Johnson from Matt Wilson, who placed 5th place in Sports Team;

• Charlee Ann Walls from Charles Spencer, who placed 1st in Target Sports

• Lanae Castleberry from Charles Spencer, who placed 5th in Wildlife.

Sixth grade participants from Tift County 4-H were:

• Bethany Samuel from J.T. Reddick, who placed 1st in Arts;

• Ellie Stone from J.T. Reddick, who placed 1st in Crafts;

• Bailee Williams from J.T. Reddick, who placed 5th in Dog Care and Training

• Kamari Scott from J.T. Reddick, who placed 2nd in Environmental Science

• Janara Lebron from J.T. Reddick, who placed 1st in Geology

• Cole Carver from J.T. Reddick, who placed 2nd in Health

• Vedant Yagnik from J.T. Reddick, who placed 1st in Historic People

• Caitlyn Burgess from J.T. Reddick, who placed 2nd in Marine and Coastal Ecology

• Emily Alexis from Tiftarea Academy, who placed 1st in Performing Arts Dance

• Jackson Beckham from J.T. Reddick, who placed 4th in Sports Teams

• Molly Wells from J.T. Reddick, who placed 1st in Rabbits;

• Haley Brannen from J.T. Reddick, who placed 1st in Sheep & Meat Goats;

• Kyndal Pate from J.T. Reddick, who placed 1st in Veterinary Science.

Also attending and assisting with Cloverleaf Project Achievement were Teen Leaders Ja’Mi Barnes, Seth Jones, Sara Beth Massey, Sydney Pridgon, Liz Pridgon, and Dana Wells.

Representing the Southwest District Board of Directors were board members: Jordan Daniels, Southwest Senior Board President; Amare Woods, Southwest Junior Board Vice President; and Maggie Harries, Southwest Junior Board Representative. In addition, Ashley Carroll, Tift County 4-H agent, and Miles A. Drummond, Tift County AmeriCorps specialist, were also in attendance and provided leadership to this group.
