Cameron Cox graduates basic training

FORT JACKSON, S.C. — Tifton native Cameron Cox has graduated Army basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, according to a  press release.

During the 10 weeks of training, Cox received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness and first aid, as well as Army history, core values and traditions.

Private Second Class Cox is the son of Emily Cox of Tifton and the late Joshua Van Leeuwin of California. His grandparents include Debra and Charles Hill of Tifton.

Cox graduated from Irwin County High School in 2011. He is now training at Fort Gordon in Augusta.
