TU golfers take second in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The No. 13 Thomas University men’s golf team carded the second-best round of the day to earn runner-up honors at the Ninth Annual Winter Invitational held at Brunswick Country Club.

After firing a fourth-place 296 on Monday, the Night Hawks shot a 9-over 297 Tuesday to improve two spots and place second in the tournament with a 593. Coastal Georgia won the event with a 282-298-580.

Joe Bannan shot a 1-over 73, to go along with his first round 69, to hold on to a tie for second individually. Bannan was five strokes back from the leader.

Sam Ledbury and Rory Henderson each jumped 10 positions to tie for 12th and 17th, respectively. Ledbury carded a 75-73 – 148 and Henderson recorded a 76-74 – 150.

Brian Stockman held on to 27th place with his 76-77 – 153, and Dylan Miranda improved six spots to tie for 44th (79-77 – 156).

The Night Hawks return to competition March 4-5 at the USC Beaufort Sand Shark Classic held at the Oldfield Golf Club in Bluffton, S.C.
