Syrupmakers pour on the runs against Monroe

CAIRO — The Cairo Syrupmakers ran their record to 11-4 after a three-game Region 1-AAAA sweep of Monroe, outscoring the Tornadoes 48-1 in the series.

Braden Kines struck out eight in four no-hit innings in the opener, and Cairo pitchers held Monroe to four hits in the series. 

Elijah Anderson, Boone Prince and Braylon Robinson each hit a homer in the sweep. Christian Maige was 5-for-8 with eight RBIs, along with two doubles and a triple. Mo Wilson was 3-for-5 with a double and a triple and three RBIs, Cameron Maige was 4-for-7 with four RBIs and Max Windham was 5-for-8 with three doubles, a triple and six RBIs. 

Boone Prince also had three RBIs in the series. 

Cairo visits North Florida Christian on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game.
