Watch night service

The Thomasville Missionary Baptist Association is holding a watch night service at 9:30 p.m., Dec. 31 at Providence M.B. Church.

 

Candlelight service

Ochlocknee United Methodist Church is holding a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 p.m., Sunday.

 

Celebration

Members of the Civic Garden Club are holding a community Kwanzaa celebration at 5 p.m., Dec. 29 at Douglass High School auditorium. Dinner will be served and attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable item for donation to the Thomas County Food Bank and wear African-inspired attire. For reservations, call (229) 558-9511.

 

Christmas Eve service

Dr. Karl Barton’s Music’s Delight Ensemble will be featured at the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at Boston Presbyterian Church in Boston.

Music will begin shortly before the opening of the service at 6 p.m., Sunday. The program will also consist of appropriate Scripture readings and seasonal carols. The Rev. Donald West will conduct the service assisted by the church choir.

The church was established in 1836, and is called the Mother of the Presbyterian Church in southwest Georgia because of its leadership in establishing a number of other congregations. The Boston Presbyterian Church is the oldest continuing house of worship in Thomas County. The service is open to the public.
