The award-winning bluegrass band Blue Holler will bring its music to the front lawn of Thomas University’s Forbes Campus at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6. The performance is part of the Sundays at Four series presented by Arts for the Community at Thomas University (ACTU).  

The members of Blue Holler began performing together in 2004 with their unique mixture of traditional, contemporary, jazz-influenced and gospel bluegrass music. Traditional bluegrass artists Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin and Tony Rice provide the foundation of Blue Holler’s sound. Other artists – including John Hartford, Kenny Smith, Etta James and Lonesome River Band – also influence their music. Blue Holler performs regularly throughout Georgia, Florida and Alabama with their instrumentals and family-style harmonies. 

 Band members include Brandon Gandy, a Georgia State Banjo Champion; Brandon Taylor on guitar and vocals; Marshall Roberts on mandolin and vocals; Skylar Gandy, a Georgia State Fiddle Champion; Seabie Ewer on bass and vocals. Ewer is also a member of Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. In 2020 Blue Holler competed and placed 6th out of 20 bands in the SPBGMA International Band Contest in Nashville, Tennessee.

This performance will be held on the lawn in front of Smith-Bonvillian Hall on TU’s Forbes Campus, which is at the intersection of Pinetree Boulevard and Millpond Road. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show.
