Archbold reports 44 new COVID cases in last week

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 44 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week. Over the past week, the system has had 710 new negative results. Sixteen people were admitted to Archbold facilities in the last week for COVID-19.

The system recorded three deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.

As of Tuesday, there were 12 COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital. There were five COVID-19 positive patients at Mitchell County Hospital, two at Grady General Hospital and none at Brooks County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.

Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID-19 positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.

The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 5,996 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 156 deaths. There also have been 504 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Thomas County has recorded 83 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH. 

The state DPH has recorded 2,371 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 63 deaths and 225 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 80 new cases in the last two weeks. 

Statewide, there have been more than 1.24 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 23,512 deaths and more than 83,200 hospitalizations.

More than 11.9 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.5% for positive results. 

Statewide, there have been 31,094 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
