Just two COVID-19 patients at Archbold

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there is two COVID-19 positive patients at its facilities.

There have been 11 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week across the Archbold system. The system has had 33 new negative results. Two people were admitted to Archbold facilities in the last week for COVID-19

The system did not record a death from COVID-19 in the last week.

As of Tuesday, there were two COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital. There were no COVID-19 positive patients at Grady General Hospital or Brooks County Hospital and one at Mitchell County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.

Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID-19 positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.

The two current COVID-19 positive patients in Archbold hospitals had not received the vaccine.

Archbold wil host vaccine clinics for those age 5 and older December 8 and December 15 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in Williams Auditorium at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Archbold also will host a vaccine clinic Saturday, December 11, from 9 a.m.-12 noon.

As of Tuesday, more than 21,290 Thomas County residents, 48% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 49,730 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents, according to the state Department of Public Health. 

Grady County has had more than 23,880 vaccines administered, with more than 10,480 people, 42% of the population, being fully vaccinated.

The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 6,074 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 163 deaths. There also have been 544 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak. 

Thomas County has recorded 24 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH. 

The state DPH has recorded 2,441 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 67 deaths and 240 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added eight new cases in the last two weeks. 

Statewide, there have been more than 1.29 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 25,847 deaths and more than 90,220 hospitalizations.

More than 13.2 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 9.9% for positive results. 

Statewide, there have been 11,053 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks. 

The state has issued more than 12.54 million vaccinations, and 52% of all Georgia residents, more than 5.38 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
