Music director releases double album
TIFTON — Angie Carr, director of music ministries at Tifton First United Methodist Church, has released a double CD project, according to a press release.
Titled “Where I Am Now,” the album is a mix of traditional, country, bluegrass, and contemporary Christian music.
Work on the double album began in 2015, and was completed this past July.
Recorded at Upper Room Studios, with sound engineer Greg Hobbs, this is Carr’s fifth CD recording. The vision for the project included putting together songs from her past and present, including friends who have influenced her musically, and including choirs from churches where she has worked in years past.
Angie, along with friends Mike Delk and Jeff Parson, wrote the title song, “Where I Am Now.” It was arranged by Gary DiBenedetto, and is now available on iTunes, and playing on YRadio.org, of Metro Atlanta, which is broadcast in 30 locations and in other countries.
Friends singing and/or playing on the album are Genine Tucker of Macon, Tony and Joy Buczek of Donalsonville, and Mike Delk and Jessica Wade of Tifton. Angie also recorded some of her own background vocals on many songs.
Carr has been employed at the Tifton First United Methodist Church for 11 years, and has a music ministry program of 15 music groups.
The various groups include: graded children’s choirs, children’s chime and bell groups, adult ensembles, hand bells, adult choirs, orchestra, bluegrass band, contemporary band and youth music groups. She leads worship for two to three services on Sundays, has a music staff and loves the ministry of music God has called her to, the release states.
She will also be sharing her music at various events in Tifton, and at Camp Meeting services in South Georgia areas. A complete events schedule is on her Facebook page: Angie Carr Music Ministry. Her new album will soon be available for purchase through www.acarrmusic.com.
A Worship Concert Tour has begun, where Angie will share many songs from her CD, and in some places, will perform with friends and choirs. The next date for the tour is Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville at 6 p.m., Nov. 5.
