Man beaten, armed robbery, prostitution charges result

THOMASVILLE — A man is in stable condition at Archbold Memorial Hospital after being beaten severely and robbed early Sunday morning, according to police.

“The victim was struck several times with metal pipes,” said Lt. Toby Knifer, Thomasville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division commander. “He was beat up pretty bad.”

The 43-year-old Thomasville resident suffered blunt-force trauma and possibly broken bones, the commander said.

Jazmen Monroe, 26, 516 McKinley St., is charged with armed robbery and prostitution in the case. Alfred D. Walden, 29, of the same address, is charged with armed robbery.

“She (Monroe) lured the victim to the residence where ultimately he was jumped on and assaulted,” Knifer said. “During the investigation of the robbery, it was discovered Jazmen was soliciting for prostitution, and she was charged with that as well.”

The victim identified Walden as an assailant. A second male assailant got away.

The victim’s money and identification were stolen.
