Brookwood tennis teams down Chiles

The Brookwood Warrior boys tennis team came away with an impressive win against much larger classification Chiles High School (Florida) last Friday, winning four of the five singles matchups and both doubles matches. The ladies took four of their five singles matches as well, competing against a mixture of JV and varsity players from Chiles.

“I was impressed by the play of both teams,” said coach Charles Marsh. “Alex Kadel struggled in his singles match, but played great tennis in his doubles match. I am very proud of his continual improvement.

“On the women’s side, I was thrilled by the play of Emma Szwarc. She had a great week in practice and in the match.  Anna, Abby and Lauren also played some amazing tennis.”

In singles, Andrew Cooper defeated Brighton Jiang 8-3. Jack Thompson downed Chris DeCardenae 8-4, Nic Kadel beat Alex Hu 8-3 and Taylor Huffman downed Brandon Lee 8-4. Chiles’ Eric Zhou topped Alex Kadel 8-1.

In doubles, Cooper and Nick Kadel beat Jiang/DeCardenae 8-3 and Thompson and Alex Kadel topped Zhou/Lee 8-3.

In girls singles, Chiles’ Harli Neshat beat Cricket Daniel 8-4 but Szwarc rolled to an 8-1 win over Savanna Phillips.
