Cribb attended ABAC from 1977-79. She graduated from ABAC with her degree in Nursing. Since then, Cribb has obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor of Education degree.
“One of the highlights of Homecoming every year is the opportunity to celebrate outstanding ABAC alumni,” Dr. Deidre Martin, Chief Advancement Officer, said. “From young alumni just beginning their careers to individuals with a lifelong history of excellence, we honored an outstanding group of alumni who are truly making a difference in their professions and their communities.”
During her time at ABAC, Cribb was involved in the Student Nursing Organization. Since her graduation from ABAC, she has managed to stay dedicated to the campus by working with the ABAC nursing faculty, presenting an ACEN Mock Accreditation Review for the nursing faculty in 2020.
Cribb is a former Dean of Nursing at Darton College. She also did private consulting for nursing programs seeking initial or continuing accreditation.
While volunteering her time to better ABAC, Cribb also volunteers her time with her community. She has volunteered with the Dougherty County Emergency Disaster Triage Team and has been an American Heart Association Instructor for ACLS, BLS, and PALS. She was also an instructor for the Emergency Nurses Association. She volunteers with STTI Phi Tau chapter community events along with the Teddy Bear donation to the Thomasville Police Department and the Halcyon Home Donation Drive.
Throughout her life, Cribb has been involved in numerous organizations and received countless awards. She has been an ACEN accreditation site visitor since 2005, she served on the ACEN Board of Commissioners from 2011-2014, and was the Chair for the ACEN Standard Revisions for Master’s and Post Master’s Certificates.
Cribb was selected as Thomas University’s Professor of the Year in 2011 and received the Jane Van de Verde Award for Teaching Excellence in 2012. In 2003, she was named the Valdosta State University Outstanding Doctoral Student for the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology.
Cribb said she chose to attend ABAC because it was her hometown college. She says as she reflected on her life, she knows that her choice to attend ABAC in 1977 was life changing.
“My career began at ABAC and has now circled back to ABAC as I near retirement,” Cribb said.
