THOMASVILLE — Former Thomasville Bulldog pitcher Hurston Waldrep is officially a member of the USA Collegiate National Team.

The right-handed hurler was selected to the team on Tuesday after competing over the last week against 50 of the top collegiate baseball players in the country in North Carolina.

Waldrep, who graduated from Thomasville in 2020, was chosen as part of the final 26-man national team squad that will travel to Haarlem, Netherlands, to compete on July 8-16. Team USA will play against Japan on Saturday, July 9 at 8 a.m.

Team USA also will play against Italy, Cuba, the Netherlands and Curacao.

Waldrep just completed his sophomore season at Southern Miss. He has since entered the transfer portal.
