THOMASVILLE- The Brookwood Lady Warriors middle school soccer team is now 12-0 after another victory on Monday night.
The Lady Warriors faced off against Willie J. Williams Middle School, shutting them out 4-0.
Dylan Simmons and Georgia Jackson both scored a goal, while Sarah Cameron Sullivan made two goals.
Simmons also had an assist, as did Audrey Flowes and Anna Claire Pyle.
Head Coach Kat Geiger said the team has worked really well with each other this year, communicating and putting a lot of time and effort to become dominant on the field.
“We have a good mix,” she said. “We have a few eighth graders and even some fifth graders who have come up and joined us.”
Geiger said she knew the team had the potential to go undefeated, but it has been exciting to watch.
“We were excited to see so many girls want to play,” she said. “We had a lot of girls come straight from basketball, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how quickly they came together, but it is such a short, fast season in middle school.”
Geiger admitted a lot of the success is due to team chemistry, and with her coaching some of the girls in the fall with TASA, she knew what she would be working with.
“I think we’ve just been really lucky they all clicked so well,” she said.
Co- coach Nicole Simmons agreed, saying the seventh and eighth graders have really led the team to these victories.
The team will now face MacIntyre Park Middle School on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Thomasville High School.
