Be careful
“I’m calling for a group of concerned citizens from Grady County. We are very much concerned about the young children under age 16 riding four-wheelers and the adult ATVs without adult supervision and helmets. We would like to know where the parents of these young children are. These children can get seriously hurt on these machines. We do not want them to get hurt.”
Cellphones economical
“This is for the person ranting about people on Medicaid and who get WIC. WIC is there for people. If your income is right and they say you can receive WIC or Medicaid, you can do it and still have a cellphone. Cellphones come a dime a dozen.”
Thanks
“Thank you to Lin McClune at Garrison-Pilcher for the wonderful job she has done with our special needs child. He has made much progress. You are a wonderful teacher.”
Don’t aggravate me
“To the person who doesn’t think anybody works hard or isn’t tired at the end of the day and ready to go home, they obviously don’t work. If I stand on my feet for eight hours a day, I’m ready to go home when it’s time. I don’t need an aggravating individual to come in after time or right before I get ready to close.”
It is a celebration
“About the Central graduation, I think it all needs to be changed. Yes, it is a celebration for some. It is a big celebration to all the kids.”
Why the delay?
“This is reference to the change in careers. I work in a doctor’s office. I’m here all day long from 8 to 5. If you’ve been sick all day, why do you want to wait until five minutes until 5 to come into the doctor’s office? I feel the same way as the clerk in retail. If you’ve known all along you needed to buy something, why didn’t you come in before closing?”
Positive assessment
“I would like to put in a rave about the Thomas County Tax Assessor’s Office. I think they are doing a tremendous job. Not everybody’s appraisal is going up. Some are going down. Even mine came down, much too my surprise. I would like to thank the tax assessors for a job well done to keep everything on an equal par.”
Use ushers
“At Central’s graduation, I saw several parents with reserved tickets holding seats for people who did not have tickets. This took away seats from graduating parents. One of them had 14 seats. I do think that is unfair. They do need to have special seats for senior parents or have someone ushering people to fill the seats one-by-one to make sure seats aren’t saved for people who aren’t parents. Besides that, the ceremony was beautiful, but there were not enough seats. Parents should be able to see the children they helped put through school for 12 years graduate.”
