Vision Imaging Center breaks ground

On Tuesday November 15, The Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for Vision Imaging Center.

Vision Imaging Center (“VIC”) soon to be located at 2544 East Pinetree Blvd., will be the only non-hospital based, independent imaging center in the area. Their mission and purpose is to provide the community with local access to affordable, high-quality diagnostic imaging services including MRI, CT, and Xray. They will be an accredited facility, to ensure quality and safety.

Vision Imaging Center, LLC (“VIC”) is owned equally by Dr. Brandi Warren and Dr. Heather Waldrop. The project is being led by Connie Burke, Director of Operations and Project Management, who will then serve as the Director of Imaging Operations when the facility opens. 

Dr. Brandi Warren grew up in Valdosta and is a board-certified family practice physician. Georgia. She earned her medical degree from The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, then completed her family practice residency at Shands University of Florida. In 2008, Dr. Warren moved to Thomasville with her husband, anesthesiologist Dr. Jesse Warren. Since then, she has been practicing in employee health and wellness clinics around the state including correctional medicine and urgent care clinics. She launched a new women’s primary care practice- Shaw Living- in February 2020. Shaw Living is a successful, vibrant part of women’s health and wellness in Thomasville. She is a member of American Medical Association, Medical Association of Georgia and is a Fellow with the American College of Family Medicine. The Warrens are members of Trinity Anglican Church and enjoy spending time and traveling with their two sons. 

Dr. Heather Waldrop was born and raised in Thomasville, Georgia. She attended Life University for undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Science. She then transferred to Texas Chiropractic College where she was ranked at the top of her class, earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. In 2004, Dr. Waldrop moved back to her charming hometown of Thomasville and began practice. In 2005, she married Dr. Mike Waldrop who is also a Chiropractor. In 2008, Dr. Heather Waldrop joined her husband in practice. They later opened South Georgia Spine, Joint and Rehab. Center, which is a Comprehensive, Multi-Specialty Pain Relief Center. The practice offers Medical Pain Management, Chiropractic, Physical Therapy and much more. They have grown to three locations serving Thomasville, Cairo and Bainbridge. The Waldrops have two sons who keep them busy with ball games. Dr. Heather Waldrop has served and participated in many organizations since her return to Thomasville. She is an active member of the Georgia Chiropractic Association. The Waldrops attend First Baptist Church of Thomasville. Outside of work Dr. Waldrop enjoys time with her family, trips to coast, fishing and working in her yard. 

Connie Burke moved to Thomasville in 2020 with her husband’s acceptance of a Vice President position at Southern Regional Technical College. Connie earned her undergraduate degree in Radiologic Science from Armstrong Atlantic State University (now GSU), then obtained a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University. She has worked in Radiology and Imaging for over 25 years- clinically as an MRI Technologist. As an administrator, she served as the Executive Director of Imaging Services for more than 15 years at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. The Burkes attend Victory Fellowship Church and they enjoy cycling and exploring the world.

Vision Imaging Center, LLC (“VIC”) applied for and was awarded a Certificate of Need (CON) from Georgia Department of Community Health (GA DCH) in October 2019. This certificate of need is awarded when GA DCH agrees with the petitioner that there is a demonstrated need for the services in the community in which it will operate. This year Vision Imaging Center begins their journey of building the area’s only independent, non-hospital-based imaging center. The community will soon have a choice for accessible, affordable, and high-quality imaging services.
