THOMASVILLE- The Thomasville Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) welcomed new members Karen Andrews, Sharon Fykes and Nancy Inman at the April meeting. Chapter Registrar Pamela Tucker introduced each new member and they were welcomed by Regent Charlotte Brown. The induction ceremony was led by Chaplain Drucilla Bennett who gave the oath of DAR membership. Andrews proved her lineage from her Revolutionary War ancestor Johann Conrad Roth, a soldier who served in Pennsylvania. Fykes’ Revolutionary patriot ancestor is Joseph Arrington, who provided patriotic service in North Carolina. Inman proved her lineage from her Revolutionary War ancestor Brigadier General William Woodford who served in Virginia. Registrar Pamela Tucker presented new members with a DAR pin and Regent Charlotte Brown gave them patriot ornaments.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
