A defendant in a 2012 murder case being tried in Thomas County Superior Court tearfully told jurors Tuesday she feared the victim was about to be killed.

Kimberly D. Williams testified for the prosecution against Alvin Davis III, who is being tried on charges of murder, armed robbery and arson, among other offenses.

Williams said she and Kiera Shanise Graham and Graham’s three children were living at 320 Shoreline Drive, Apartment D, on July 17,  2012, the day of the murder of Hassan Hana Williams, 21, of Columbia, S.C.

On July 16, Graham received a text from Hassan Williams that said he was coming to Thomasville. Graham and the victim met while serving in the U.S. Army together.

The next morning, Kimberly Williams was preparing to go to work when she saw Alvin Davis, also known as A.D., sitting on Graham’s bed. A “strange” car she saw parked outside belonged to Hassan Williams.

Graham showed Kimberly Williams a text from Hassan Williams, “and she played it off like he was kind of bothering her,” the witness said.

Kimberly Williams went outside and Hassan Williams called her name. “I thought it was weird he knew my name,” Williams said. Because of Davis’ presence, she told Hassan Williams that Graham was not at home.

Williams told Graham she told the visitor Graham was not at home. Graham “looked kind of calm and pleased with that answer,” Williams said.

Williams, Davis and Graham’s five-year-old daughter left the residence. Hassan Williams said he would follow them.

At a stop sign, Davis called his brother, Chaquel Jaquez Cook, who also is charged in the case and has entered guilty pleas.

“I heard him saying something about, ‘We’re going to make a lick (a robbery). Meet me at the spot,’ “ Williams testified.

She said that as they got closer to Metcalfe Avenue, the eventual murder scene, Davis became “amped up.” “He (Davis) asked me if I was scared,” Williams told the jury.

With her voice breaking, Williams described how she “got a feeling” from the look on Davis’ face and how he acted that Hassan Williams would be killed.
