THOMASVILLE — Thomas County Central High School has announced the establishment of a scholarship to honor former TCCHS band director C. Michial Mayhall, who passed away in March.
The ‘Mayhall Family Scholarship’ was formed to honor the legacy of Michial Mayhall. Each year a student will be awarded a scholarship who exhibits the values and beliefs that Mr. Mayhall instilled in his former students. The scholarship will be awarded at the senior awards ceremony each year by a member of the Mayhall family.
“We are so extremely proud to continue to honor our patriarch’s legacy and be the vessel in which he can continue to touch lives even after his passing,” said daughter Carly Mayhall Fox. “We are the living legacies to the ‘leader of the band’, and it’s our job to keep his spirit alive and use the life lessons he instilled in us to impart change and knowledge on the next generation through helping them continue their education.”
Created by TCCHS band alumni who learned under Mayhall’s tutelage, the scholarship will be awarded to an active member in the Thomas County Central High School Marching Band who exhibits the following values: compassion, determination, perseverance, and integrity.
Contributions toward the scholarship are encouraged from the public. Please send a check to:
