THOMASVILLE- Local resident Robert Shiver is making headlines once again this week. Previously, Shiver was the topic of national news after his estranged wife Lindsay Shiver, along with her alleged lover Tererance Bethel were arrested in the Bahamas for hiring a hitman to kill Robert.

While Robert never came forward publicly to speak on the allegations facing Lindsay, he did not object to her receiving a bond. She was later released on a $100,000 bail and was subjected to wearing a monitoring device, while staying in the Bahamas until her trial on October 5.

As rumors swirled about the couple’s marriage and pending divorce, Robert remained quiet on the subject, doing his best to protect his three children from the ongoing publicity.

Putting his children first drew the attention of a reality t.v. star, who knows the feeling all too well.

Chrisley Knows Best alum, Savannah Chrisley publicly announced on the Viall Files podcast Monday afternoon that she is now dating Robert after “sliding into his DMs (direct messages).”

The Viall Files podcast, hosted by former Bachelor Nick Viall is a relationship and lifestyle podcast, hosting various celebrity guests weekly.

During Monday’s podcast, Viall questioned Chrisley on her dating life, after she called off her engagement with ex-fiance Nic Kerdiles after two years. However, Viall did not expect Chrisley to open up and say she was dating Robert.

“Are you currently dating?” Viall asked.

Chrisley admitted she was dating a “completely normal person,” noting it was not a celebrity athlete. She quickly backtracked saying the individual was recently in the press, but “not for good reasons.”

“There was just some stories on them, regarding their marriage,” Chrisley explained to Viall. “This guy I’m talking to, his wife just tried to kill him.”

Viall was shocked, claiming he just heard a story about a woman who tried to do this, but all he knew was her husband attended Auburn and played football.

“Is it the guy from Auburn?” Viall questioned.

Chrisley quickly began playing coy, but did say she met Robert through social media app Instagram and “slid into his DMs” after seeing stories posted about him in the media.

While she said they had not defined their relationship, she stated that Robert is a “very sweet human being.”

One of the main draws to Robert was the love for his kids.

Chrisley is currently caring for her two younger siblings after her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced to 12 and 7 years respectively for fraud and tax evasion.

“You realize your kids come first and everyone else comes after,” Chrisley said.

When asked what she believes about the incident between Robert and Lindsay, Chrisley refused to speak on the topic, due to the kids being involved.

“I just have so much respect for them that I would never say this or that happened,” she said. “That’s for them to talk about, when they’re ready to talk about it.”

Viall continued to probe the new relationship, asking when the next date is.

Chrisley is set to make an appearance for the premier of Special Forces at a military base outside of Nashville and said those in attendance may meet Robert, but they have already had to dodge the publicity once at the airport, after TMZ followed them.

For now, Chrisley told Viall she looks forward to seeing where the relationship goes, as she really appreciates his ability to communicate and listen.
