Thomasville Center for the Arts introduces new Art in the Afternoon classes this spring

Young budding artists will have a chance to unleash their inner creativity this spring at Thomasville Center for the Arts (TCA). Be it music, dance, art or a combination of the three, TCA has creativity covered for a wide range of ages. TCA resident partners like South Georgia Ballet, South Georgia Youth Orchestra and more help provide a well-rounded scope of opportunities for kids after school.
Bus transportation is provided from area schools to both TCA locations, the historic main building and TCA downtown. Head over to thomasvillearts.org to learn more and to sign up — enrollment is open now.
Art in the Afternoon offerings are vast and diverse and one of TCA’s newest classes is the Young Creators Club. This is great for kids ages 8-13; they will use the design process to explore the world around them and create artistic solutions for what they see.
If music is of interest, learn from the best with private lessons from the TCA Music Conservatory instructors, or if in middle or high school, check out the South Georgia Youth Orchestra and learn from renowned celebrated cellist Dr. Boyan Bonev.
If dance is the calling, head over to South Georgia Ballet — ballerinas can begin as early as 2. Throughout the spring there will be performances, exhibitions, and family free-for-alls — be sure to check out TCA’s calendar.
“At TCA, we believe that every child deserves access to art education, and we are striving to be able to provide that opportunity,” said Stephanie Sharp, TCA’s youth and family programs manager. “By encouraging a child’s passion and curiosity to create, an inner artist will emerge to connect with the world and others in many beautiful ways.”
