“We are thrilled to have South Georgia representation in our firm,” said Michele Dunn, Capitol Affairs chief financial officer.

An active member in local politics since moving to Grady County in 1992, Register’s new position will see her lobbying and working on policy creation and evaluation at both the federal and state levels with Capitol Affairs, a bipartisan public affairs law firm.

Register previously served on the Grady County Board of Education for 13 years, resigning in December 2019. She has also worked on several statewide campaigns as a rural advisor and has worked on statewide issues including public education, teen pregnancy prevention and women’s health.

Register served as a legislative and political adviser with Sen. Jen Jordan (D-Atlanta) during the last Georgia General Assembly session, focusing on rural and education issues. She is also currently the chair of Georgia’s WINList. She currently lives on her cattle farm with her husband of 33 years, Ashley Register. The couple have three grown children.
