CAIRO — A juvenile who was missing for more than 48 hours was located safe in Thomasville over the weekend.
Police say 14-year-old Kadasia Alexis Hall was located unharmed at a residence in Thomasville on Sunday at around 4:30 p.m. following a two-day search by law enforcement, family, friends and members of the community.
Hall’s grandmother had reported her missing from a residence on Linda Blair Drive in Cairo on Friday. A Cairo Police Department press release stated Hall is believed to have walked away from the residence. Investigators say Hall was spotted again Saturday evening at Holder Park.
A press release from the Cairo Police Department stated it appeared Hall left the house in Cairo on her own free will and was never in any danger. She had been staying in Thomasville with her mother, Kinnesh Moore, who police say did not disclose her daughter’s location to investigators at the onset of the search.
Authorities are investigating Moore’s alleged failure to disclose Hall’s location and if charges should be brought against against her or any other individuals who may have had knowledge of Hall’s whereabouts during the time she was missing.
“It is the belief of the Cairo Police Department that if (Moore) had advised investigators the whereabouts of her daughter, the significant and immediate concern caused to the community over the safety of the child would have been avoided as well as the needless expense of police resources,” said interim police chief Giovannie Santos.
Moore is currently in the custody of the Cairo Police Department. Investigators are questioning her as to her involvement and alleged failure to disclose Hall’s location during the two-day search.
The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services has been contacted for the investigation.
Police are unsure who initially brought Hall to Thomasville.
