The event will hold over 50 booths of career opportunities with 300 open positions and counting.

The current list of positions available include, but are not limited to, manufacturing, forklift operators, electricians, local police and state patrol officers, bank tellers, accountants, CNC operators, sales associates, therapists, recruiters, customer service representatives, nursing, packaging operators, truck drivers, material handlers, housekeepers, and licensed counselors.

New Hire Solutions will be on site, accepting applications and interviewing job seekers.

“At Project Purpose, we will match people’s skills with the most pressing job opportunities and guide the next generation to see what is available right here in our own community,” said Landis Thomas, president of New Hire Solutions.

Another feature of this career exploration event includes an entire building of exciting programs and interactive booths offered by Southern Regional Technical College.

“Southern Regional Technical College is proud to partner with Imagine Thomasville at the 2022 Project Purpose event,” said Jim Glass, president of Southern Regional Technical College. “Our mission is workforce development, and all our programs are developed with local jobs in mind.

“Project Purpose will offer high school students and local job seekers an opportunity to explore a variety of career fields through hands on activities with experts ready to answer their questions in real time. SRTC program faculty will stand alongside local employers with interactive demonstrations for attendees to experience a day in the life of 31 of our programs.”

Attendees can take part in diagnostic demos with automotive technology, augmented reality with drafting, laparoscopic surgery with surgical technology, and more.

With a live DJ, gift prizes of $200 gas cards, and more, the Imagine Thomasville team seeks to encourage anyone that is interested in advancing in their career, or just starting out, to attend on April 28.

Imagine Thomasville has been focusing on strengthening the birth to work pipeline by holding the Project Purpose Hiring Event + Career Exploration Day this spring.
