Grady County could soon start searching for a new county overseer.
County Administrator Carlos Tobar was unanimously selected as the sole finalist for county manager in Baldwin County, according to the Milledgeville Union-Recorder.
According to the newspaper, Tobar was interviewed in Milledgeville on Tuesday.
The Baldwin County Board of Commissioners announced Tobar as the finalist following a closed session.
“Procedurally, they have to make an announcement,” Tobar said Friday, also noting an announcement has to be made before a final hiring decision.
Tobar added a contract has not been drawn up.
According to the Union-Recorder, a contract will be drawn up within the next two weeks between Tobar and the Baldwin County Board of Commissioners.
Grady Commission Chairman Ray Prince said Tobar has not officially resigned.
“He was just the top pick,” Prince said.
Tobar was named county administrator by the Grady County Board of Commissioners in June 2013.
