CAIRO — Investigators with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit say a local couple was carrying “trafficking amounts” of narcotics inside their home.
Authorities say more than 40 grams of methamphetamine was located inside the Bold Springs Road residence shared by Richard Boatwright and Caitlin Duccini.
Drug agents with the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office had executed an arrest warrant Friday at the residence, located in a trailer park on the 100 block of Bold Springs Road, in search of Tyler McGrotha, a 29-year-old Thomasville resident wanted for a probation violation. Once inside, deputies say they saw signs of drug activity and notified the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.
“(Boatwright and Duccini) said that they were just extending a courtesy to (McGrotha) for a place to stay,” said Michael Logue, investigator with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office. “Our assumption is that he was there to purchase.”
A search warrant was executed the same day by drug agents with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Investigators say the methamphetamine located inside the residence was found with packaging consistent with the distribution of narcotics.
Boatwright, 40, and Duccini, 26, were arrested and transported to the Grady County Detention Center. They have both been charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
The incident occurred Friday at around 2:30 p.m.
