THOMASVILLE —  Yearlong Cross Creek Elementary School discount cards are on sale until Tuesday, Sept. 6.

A Cross Creek card has many benefits, school boosters said, including saving money, helping provide incentives and rewards for Cross Creek students, as well as keeping shopping at home with local merchants.

Selling at the same price of $5 since 1994, Cross Creek cards save money throughout the year and pay for themselves after the first or second use, the boosters said.

The first Cross Creek cards were sold in 1994, and have continued to be an important fundraiser for the school, according to the boosters. Money raised over the years has funded several projects for students.

The sale of the Cross Creek cards funds special programs and materials, including interactive distance learning programs, musical instruments, art equipment and supplies and special science activities.

Rachael Roberts, Cross Creek Academic Boosters president, said she is excited about this year’s Cross Creek card sale.

“There are many new businesses on the card this year,” Roberts said. “This is a wonderful fundraiser that allows us to provide nice things for our students. We are so glad our community supports the students so much with the sales. The kids are all super excited about the prizes they can win. I’m very proud to be a part of such a great cause.”
