TOSAC and Wanderlust: Theatre on Location present an immersive ‘Christmas Carol’

On Thursday, December 12 and Friday, December 13, Thomasville on Stage and Co. (TOSAC) will present the world premiere of Wanderlust: Theatre on Location’s immersive adaptation of “A Christmas Carol.”

This year for Victorian Christmas, TOSAC invites guests to take in Dickens’ classic holiday tale like never before. On a commission from TOSAC, Wanderlust has created an intimate, immersive adaptation of the timeless tale that will be staged on location at the historic Lapham-Patterson House in Thomasville. This site-specific performance will take guests on Scrooge’s Christmas journey through various rooms of the estate.

Shows will occur on the hour, every hour from 5-9 p.m. on both nights of Victorian Christmas: Thursday, December 12 and Friday, December 13. When booking, choose the time slot you’d like to attend. Audience is limited to 30 per performance.

Please note that this is a promenade performance and audience will be standing for the duration of the 40-minute show. Accommodations can be made for wheelchair users and those less able to stand.

Wanderlust made its mark in the region last summer with their premiere production “Musicals on the Move,” which staged excerpts from beloved musicals in site-specific businesses across Midtown Tallahassee.

“Wanderlust believes in the magic of telling stories “on location” by staging musical theatre at site-specific venues,” said the company’s artistic director, Laura Hope-London. “By pairing together our immersive spin on a holiday classic with a beloved local landmark, Wanderlust will bring the intimacy and vitality of professional site-specific theatre to the Thomasville community this holiday season.”

While initial stages of the company’s work will focus on the existing musical theatre canon, future developments will include the commissioning of new musicals inspired by locations across the country.

The company includes Brittyn Bonham, Grant Brecheisen, Samuel Castellanos, Zachary Aaron Croft, Jacob Duquette, Duncan Hoehn, Bre Marin, Sanuki Prematilleke, and Caroline Stewart.

The production, under the direction of Wanderlust’s resident choreographer Holly Stone, features musical direction by Grant Brecheisen. Danielle Dede serves as stage manager.
