Thomasville Chapter DAR installs new officers

At its May meeting, the Thomasville Chapter DAR installed new officers. Chapter Regent Shelba Sellers introduced Georgia State Society DAR First Vice Regent Betty Harrah, who installed the new chapter officers for the 2021-2023 term. 

After administering the oath of office, Harrah presented each officer with a candy bar or chocolate candy which symbolized the duties of the office for which they will serve. The new officers for the Thomasville Chapter DAR are Regent Charlotte Brown, Vice Regent Mary Tomlinson, Chaplain Drucilla Bennett, Recording Secretary Nancy Pyle, Corresponding Secretary Sue White, Treasurer Linda Solana, Registrar Pamela Tucker, Historian Mary Margaret Quiggle, Librarian Shelba Sellers and Parliamentarian Jinanne Parrish.

After the installation ceremony, outgoing Regent Shelba Sellers presented incoming Regent Charlotte Brown with the gavel and Chapter Regent pin for the Thomasville Chapter. 

New Regent Charlotte Brown presented outgoing Regent Sellers with the past Chapter Regent pin and thanked her for her service as Regent during her two-year term. Brown also presented a copy of the 2020 Chapter Scrapbook to Sellers.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War.
