DAR chapter donates book to library in honor of Col. Brown

The Thomasville Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) donates the book, “Twenty-One Steps: Guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” by Jeff Gottesfeld and illustrated by Matt Tavares, to the Thomas County Public Library in honor of Col. Joseph Brown, U.S. Army (ret.) who was the guest speaker at the chapter’s November meeting. November 11, 2021, marked the 100th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With more than 190,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.
