THOMASVILLE- Thomasville National Bank (TNB) recently engaged with Junior and Seniors in Thomas County Central High School’s Financial Literacy Class to discuss the nuances of banking and finance. The session aimed to equip students with valuable insights into the banking industry and equip them with the knowledge to make informed financial and career decisions.
A panel of TNB officers, including Josh Cone, Charlotte Hodges, Ashley Carter, Hollie Lloyd, and Melvin Hugans, met with students at The Thomasville- Thomas County Chamber of Commerce to share their expertise with the students. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, from the basics of checking and savings accounts to the complexities of commercial lending and the importance of being able to work with a team.
Beyond the technical aspects of banking, the panelists also delved into the practicalities of navigating the post-high school journey. They emphasized the importance of academic preparation, college exploration, and career planning to ensure a successful transition into adulthood.
Josh Cone, Commercial Lending Officer at TNB stated “The chance for Juniors and Seniors to hear the challenging journeys of multiple bankers is unique in many ways. The hope was to help students see the importance of being prepared and focused as they take the next step into college, military or the workforce.”
The interactive session provided the students with a comprehensive understanding of the banking industry and the financial landscape, empowering them to make informed decisions about their future endeavors. TNB’s commitment to financial education is evident in its ongoing efforts to equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve financial success.
