The Cairo Syrupmakers girls basketball team earned another win Tuesday night, downing the Crisp County Cougars, 67-34, at the Teresa Edwards gymnasium in Cairo.

The Syrupmakers led throughout the game, taking a 15-9 lead into the second quarter and a 27-18 one into halftime. They outscored the Cougars 19-10 and 21-6 in each of the final two eight-minute time frames.

The win follows a 2-1 record at the Baker County Christmas Shootout to end 2015. Cairo defeated Stewart County, 63-30, and Terrell County, 53-52, with a last-second 3-pointer by Dymtra Robinson.

The team lost the final game to Kendrick (13-1, 7-0 Region 2-AAA), 88-51.

Cairo (8-5, 2-2 Region 1-AAAA) will travel to play Cook Friday night and Bainbridge Saturday night. Both games start at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow.
