Archbold announces visitor policy changes

As Archbold officials continue to balance COVID-19-related precautions with the needs of their patients and their families, they are announcing the following updates to the visitation policies effective Thursday, September 24.
At Archbold Memorial Hospital, one visitor at a time, with a limit of three different visitors each day, will be allowed to visit any inpatient other than suspected or confirmed COVID-19 positive inpatients. The visitor is asked to use hand sanitizer when entering the room and must wear a mask at all times.
Labor and Delivery visitation at Archbold Memorial Hospital: one (designated support person may accompany the patient. No other visitors will be permitted in Labor and Delivery. Mother/Baby visitation at Archbold Memorial Hospital: one visitor at a time, with a limit of three (3) different visitors each day. The designated support person will not count as a visitor.
No visitors will be allowed to accompany patients with appointments at an Archbold Medical Group clinic, unless the patient is a minor or requires assistance.
The following visitation policies remain in effect at this time:
- Policies for visitors in inpatient areas of Brooks County Hospital, Grady General Hospital and Mitchell County Hospital will be determined at each site based on the number of COVID-19 patients at the facility.
- Patients at the hospital for a procedure (such as surgery, endoscopy procedure or cath lab procedure) may have one visitor accompany them and wait in a waiting room during the procedure. The visitor will be issued an armband and must wear a mask at all times.
- Patients at the hospital for an outpatient diagnostic procedure (radiology, lab, etc.) should enter the facility alone unless they require assistance.
- Patients at the emergency department or urgent care may have one designated visitor at bedside as appropriate, with two allowed if the patient is a minor. No visitors will be allowed to wait in waiting areas.
- Patients that are suspected or confirmed to be COVID-19 positive will not be allowed to have visitors.
- No visitors will be allowed at our long-term care facilities.
- Patients with appointments at any Archbold outpatient department (ACC, Women’s Center, Wound Care, etc.) may have one person accompany them and the patient and visitor must wear a mask at all times.
