Roscoe (Johnny) Gleaton

Graveside services for Roscoe (Johnny) Gleaton, 72, Cairo, are at 11 a.m., Monday, April 19, 2004 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla. Rev. James Branch will officiate. Active pallbearers are Ronnie Gleaton, Eric Gleaton, Danny Gleaton, Jeff Gleaton, Mike Gleaton, Mike Mari, Jimmy Johnson, Todd Johnson and Chad Johnson. Mr. Gleaton died Thursday, April 15 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Born July 22, 1931 in Fowlstown, Ga., he was a son of the late Henry A. Gleaton Sr. and Willa Florine Gleaton. He was married to Margaret M. Gleaton of Cairo on April 1, 1956. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, of the Baptist faith and in the oil re-refining business. Survivors include his wife, Margaret M. Gleaton of Cairo; daughter, Christie Hunter of Atlanta; grandchildren, Torrie Houston of Meigs, Jerrica Hunter of Meigs; great-grandchild, Dylan Houston of Meigs; brothers, Joe Ben Gleaton and wife, Mary of Quincy, Fla., Daniel Gleaton and wife, Jean of Fayetteville, N.C., George Gleaton and wife, Dorothy of Havana, Fla.; and a sister, Joe Ann G. Scott of Havana, Fla. He was preceded in death by brothers, James Daris Gleaton, Henry A. Gleaton Jr. and Wilma Dean Gleaton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. — Clark Funeral Home



Bobby Odell Key

Services for Bobby Odell Key, 66, of Pelham are at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 18, 2004 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla. The Rev. Milford Stanley will officiate and interment is in Ochlocknee Cemetery. Mr. Key died Thursday, April 15 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Born Jan. 27, 1938 in Colquitt County, Ga., he was a son of the late America Jane Barwick Tucker and Spencer Miles Key. He was retired from Coats and Clark and a member of East Pelham Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Inez Key of Pelham; two sons, Charles Gandy and wife, Janice of Ochlocknee, Elvis Key and wife, Dena of Camilla; three sisters, Geraldine Godwin, Urbie Parker and Lessie Bentley all of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Jennifer Braswell, Stephanie Gandy, Bobby Wayne Key and Whitney West. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Thurman Tucker, Preston Tucker, Oliver Tucker, Marvin Key, Ernest Key and Aubrey Key.
