Graveside services for Herbert Barnes, 77, Lakeland, Fla. formerly of Thomasville are at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002 at Magnolia Cemetery, Cassidy Road, Thomasville. Elder Herbert Herring will officiate. Mr. Barnes died Nov. 24 in Lakeland. Born Oct. 25, 1925 in Thomas County, he was the son of the late Robert L. Barnes Sr. and Cassie Lee Graham Barnes. He attended Thomas County public schools and was a member of St. Mary M.B. Church. Survivors include his daughter, Hattie Barnes Ratliff of Albany; former wife, Dorothy Barnes of Lakeland; sister-in-law, Nadine Barnes of Thomasville; aunt, Martha Graham of Thomasville; special nephew, Roosevelt Barnes of Atlanta; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. — Hadley’s Funeral Home

Services for Albert Gallon “A.G.” Harvey Jr., 92, of Pelham, are at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at Macedonia Baptist Church. Elder Max Childs will officiate assisted by the Rev. Mickey Carter and Chaplain Jeff Carter, with burial at the church cemetery. Active pallbearers are Jody Harvey, Randy Harvey, Mickey Harvey, Bret Layton, Scott Layton, John Layton, Ben Cowart and Doug Chellman. Mr. Harvey died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Pelham Parkway. Born Sept. 8, 1910, in Grady County, he was son of the late Leola Barfield Harvey and the late Albert Gallon Harvey Sr. He was preceded in death by wives Josie Sellers Harvey and Annie Ruth Causey Harvey. He was a retired farmer and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Bobby Harvey of Thomasville and Billy Joe Harvey of Tallahassee, Fla.; two daughters, Shelby Layton of Meigs and Norma Dale Miller of Bradenton, Fla.; grandchildren, Donna Roberts, Mickey Harvey, Randy Harvey, Peggy Robertson, Patti Chellman, Kim Cowart, Bret Layton, John Layton, Scott Layton, Connie Brooks, Jody Harvey, Menda Clark, Caroline Harvey, Katie Harvey; great-grandchildren, Cristin Harvey, Grayson Harvey, Kevin Roberts, Layton Harvey, Anna Harvey, Meghan Chellman, Morgan Cowart, Taylor Cowart, Eric Layton, Jennifer Layton, Jackie Layton, Heath Layton, Ashley Layton, Raven Roberts, Jermey Layton, Courtney Taylor, Makayla Taylor, Josie Harvey and Hunter Roberts; and great-great-grandchild, Ashlan Layton.
