Barfield-Spellmeyer

Hannah Gabrielle Barfield became the bride of Colin Beckwith Spellmeyer in a ceremony performed at 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
The bride’s parents are Martha Dickinson Barfield and the late Charles Dinton Barfield of Thomasville. The groom is the son of Cherri Spellmeyer and the late Peter Spellmeyer of Williamsburg, Virginia.
The traditional Presbyterian ceremony was performed by the Rev. Ludwig Weaver, pastor and head of staff at Westminster Prebyterian.
Music was provided by organist Nancy Smith of Greenville, soloist was Leigh Ward of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Maid of honor was Lynzie Breanne Trotter of Pickens, South Carolina.
Bridesmaids were Jessica Larke Barfield, Natalie Genevieve Barfield, both of Thomasville and sisters of the bride; Candace Lauren Spellmeyer, sister of the groom of Williamsburg, Virginia, and Leigh Christine Ward of Spartanburg.
The bride’s attendants wore formal wear in various designs in shades of amethyst. They carried bouquets of monochromatic succulents and fanning foliage, baby’s breath and lavender. The exposed stems were tied with pale green dupioni silk ribbons.
Bridesman was Hannah’s childhood friend, Ronald Eugene Stripling of Thomasville.
Best man was Sean Andrew Piplico of Williamsburg.
Groomsmen were Tommy Robert Conrad of Williamsburg, Erik Brinton Supplee of Williamsburg, Simon Robert Sutherland Davies of London, England, Kevin Joseph Meyer of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Matthew John Sobieski of Melbourne, Florida.
Flower girl was the bride’s niece, Sullivan Larke Barfield of Thomasville. She wore a white floor length gown of layered organza and tulle.
Escorted down the aisle by her mother, the bride wore an elegant original gown which featured crystals, sequins and bead work around the sweetheart bodice and along the waistline. The gown featured a regal layer of illusion lace which flowed into a sweep train. Her chapel length veil of silk tulle was adorned with an intricate lace applique border.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of lavender and purple calla lilies, pachyveria succulents, lavender and baby eucalyptus flowers. The exposed stems were tied with pale green dupioni silk ribbons. An antique pearl necklace which belonged to the groom’s paternal grandmother was woven into the bouquet.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Peace Center at The Certus Loft on Main Street in Greenville. The event was catered by Smoke on the Water, a popular Greenville establishment. The rehearsal dinner was held on Friday, Oct. 2 at The Brick Street Bakery and was hosted by Cherri Spellmeyer, mother of the groom.
The bridesmaids’ luncheon, hosted by Martha Barfield, was held on Friday, Oct. 2 at The Pomegranate on Main in Greenville. Each attendant was presented with a Scout Weekender Bag, along with other favors.
The groom and his friends selected Charleston as the site for the bachelor’s party. They had a weekend of fun, games and athletic pursuits, while the bride and her attendants spent a long weekend in Orlando, Florida, visiting all of the Disney parks and other hot spots.
The couple was honored with several showers and parties in both Thomasville and Greenville. They have made Greenville their home.
After honeymoon plans to the Dominican Republic were obliterated by Hurricane Joaquin, the couple quickly selected New Orleans for their trip.
