On Thursday, Dec. 1, the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce presented Taste of Thomasville Food Tour (TOT) with the December 2016 Business of the Month award. TOT has been in business in Thomasville since March 2013.

“I love, and so do my guides, showing off Thomasville,” said proprietor Debra Smith. “Thomasville is a hidden secret of the South. When people visit here, they realize what a gem we have. Most are totally surprised and a lot of times, those people go back and either tell their friends who plan a visit, or bring someone back themselves. That truly warms my heart.” 

With the Business of the Month award, TOT will receive a banner to put on display for the month of December. In addition to the banner, they will also receive a digital billboard announcing them as Business of the Month with social media posts and promotion through various media outlets. Each month, the chamber recognizes a Business of the Month, an honor that is randomly presented to a member in good standing with at least one full year of chamber membership. The chamber’s hopes for this program is to recognize its members and help promote positive business in the community.

“The chamber and Don Sims gave me a great start by going in and talking to Don about my ideas,” Smith said. “He got behind me by supporting me, helping me and buying my first tour ticket. Also, the networking that I have done through the chamber has given me many lifelong friends. Those of who I feel I can call upon or they can call upon me whenever we need each other. And of course, I love being an Ambassador. I love promoting the chamber and Thomasville through the Ambassadors program.”
