Brookwood Tourney

Cairo’s Bryan Gainous, pitching for Tift County, was named the Most Valuable Player in the Brookwood Memorial Day Classic, held throughout lthe week. Tift County won the tournament, defeating Brookwood 10-2 in the championship game.

Three area players were selected to the All-Tournament team. Brookwood’s Stephen Cheney and Seth Tucker were named to the team as was Thomas County Central’s Cole Parrish.

Other members of the All-Tourney team were: Isaac Jackson of Moultrie, Buster Posey of Lee. County’s Red Hounds, Caley Horton of Westover, Drew Hobby of Fitzgerald, Will Wood of Berrien County, Blake Wright of Tift County and Cody Green of Moultrie.

The team was selected by coaches and umpires who participated in the week-long event.
