Services for Martha L. Smith, 77, of Ocala, Fla., are Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home. Rev. Brant Pickard will officiate. Interment will be at Boston City Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are Christopher Bays, Dakota Bays, David Smith, B.J. Smith, Brian Smith, Robert Lopez, Mickey Cochran and Dickey Cochran. Mrs. Smith passed away Dec. 26, at Archbold Medical Center. She was born May 19, 1937 in Bartow, Fla. and was the daughter of the late Harry Kearse and Eunice Thompson Kearse. She is survived by her sons, Billy Wayne Smith (Judy) of Morven and Donald Laverne Smith (Laura Newvine) of Ocala; daughters Diana Smith Eisesser (John) of Ocala, Glenda Gail Bays (Thomas) of Cairo and Deborah Elaine Porter (Raymond) of Boston; grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Billy James Smith, Micah Hunniwell, David Joel Smith, Donald Lee Smith, Daniel Glenn Smith, Christopher Gene Bays, Sheena Bays Griffin, Dakota William Bays and Heather Renee Pickard; great grandchildren, Shea Hernandez, Shelly Hernandez, Daniel Layton Smith, Kylee Ann Bays, Christian Bays, Gabriella Bays, Amari Bays, Presley Bays, Trinity Griffin, Triston Griffin, Taylon Griffin, Dakota Drace Bays, Rachel Bays, Madeline Grace Pickard, Courtney Scalf, Zachary Newvine and Nathenial Newvine; sisters, Lillian Blankenship (Melvin) of Hahira and Barbara Jean Lane of Valdosta; brothers, Jimmy Kearse (Jean) of Quitman and Freddie Kearse (Kathy) of Morven and the children’s father, Billy F. Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
