THOMASVILLE – Thomas County Central volleyball placed third in the recent region tournament and have now secured a spot in next week’s state playoffs.

The Lady Jackets went 2-1 in the region tournament, losing only to Veterans in three sets. They defeated Northside 2-0 and Houston Country 2-1. 

Central finished the regular season with a 10-11 overall record and finished 2-1 in the region with losses to Lee County and Houston County and a win over Northside.

The Lady Jackets also received All-Region honors. Jaden Crews and Christian Nixon were named first-team All-Region and Kate Henson and Willow Hunt were named second-team All-Region. Shelby Scoggins received an honorable mention.

The GHSA volleyball state playoffs are set to begin on October 15. At the time of writing, Thomas County Central has not been matched up with an opponent.
