Rev. Mack Roy Loggins

Funeral services for Rev. Mack Roy Loggins, 74, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.  Rev. Robert L. Johnson, Pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church of Fort Myers, FL will officiate services with interment to follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery.  Rev. Loggins nephews and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  Rev. Loggins was born on January 18, 1939 in Aucilla, FL t the late Clinton Loggins, Sr. and Beatrice Williams Loggins.  He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church and Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and attended the Jefferson County School System.  On June 3, 1995 Rev. Loggins wed Ms. Irene Preston at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Fort Myers, FL and together they enjoyed his retirement.  Rev. Loggins was a resident of Thomasville for 12 years and he departed this life on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.  Survivors to cherish his memory include his devoted wife Irene Loggins of Thomasville; daughter Evangelist Guander Gaskin of Atlanta, GA; son Lee Roy Loggins of Clarksville, TN; stepsons Chester Shellman of Rochester, NY, Freddie Shellman of Buffalo, NY, and Willie Cason (Lillie) both of Rochester, NY; stepdaughters Gwendolyn Williams, Debra Shellman, Mary Shellman, and Shirley Shellman all of Rochester, NY, Thelma Raynor (Clinton, Sr.) of Cape Coral, FL and Laura Scurry of Fort Myers, FL; stepsons Matthew Preston (Carol) of Fort Myers, FL, Kalvin Preston (Sheryl) of Atlanta, GA, Roosevelt Preston, Jr. of Fort Myers, FL; sister Alberta Powell of Fort Myers, FL; aunts Edna Ford of Kissimmee, FL and Ollie Mae Loggins of Lamont, FL; uncle Archie Lee Loggins of Aucilla, FL; sister-in-law Queen Brown of Thomasville and brother-in-law Roosevelt Holton of Thomasville; two special friends, Mattie Howard and Lena Mae Jackson; 44 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  The family is asked to please meet at 301 Peach St. at 10:00 a.m. for the processional.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013.  The body will lie instate from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour 11:00 a.m. with no viewing after the eulogy. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
