Diana Fields Horne

Born May 15, 1955, in Brooks County, Georgia, Diana Fields is the daughter of the late Oscar and Josie Fields of Brooks County. On Tuesday, October 30, 2012, Diana departed this life at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital.  Two older brothers, Oscar Fields and Herbert Fields, preceded her in death.  Diana attended Brooks County High School in Quitman, Georgia.  She furthered her education at Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville, Georgia.  She was an active member of Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board.  She was employed several years as a store manager with Murphy’s IGA, of Boston, Georgia.  On September 5, 1992, she married Ronald E. Horne.  Left to mourn her passing is her devoted husband, Ronald E. Horne, Barwick, GA; one step-daughter, Quanekia Lloyd and grandchild Aniyah Griffin both of Barwick, GA; devoted brothers, Horace (Li) Fields, Quebec, Canada and Don Fields, Barwick, GA; devoted sister, Janice (Edward) Brooks, Boston, GA, Nathaniel Tyler, Thomasville, GA; a special sister, Wendy Williams, Thomasville; devoted father and mother-in-law, A. J. Horne, Sr. and Flossie Horne, Boston, GA; devoted sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally Horne-Bevard, A.J. Horne, Jr.(LuSendy), all of Thomasville, GA, Helen Brooks, Mary Horne, Thelma Horne, Boston, GA, Marvin (Roberta) Walker, Atlanta, GA; Wilbert (Dee) Brooks, Tallahassee, FL; special friend of the family, James Bushware, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA (Pastor T. C. Mitchell) with Rev. Charles Dorsey J. Dorsey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lassac CME Church Cemetery in Boston, Georgia.  Public viewing will be held between the hours of  3:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Chapel in Quitman, Georgia. — Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home
