Services for Howard Ray Thompson, 70, of Thomasville will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. J. T. Thompson will officiate and internment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Powell, David Cannon, Ellis Fletcher, Mikee Thompson, Dougie Thompson and Weschler Edelen. Mr. Thompson died on December 24th in Thomasville. Born April 8, 1942 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late James Alton and Sadie Duncan Thompson. He was a 1960 graduate of Thomasville High School, where he was as a running back on the football team and ran track. He loved the Thomasville Bulldogs and was an avid supporter. In 1962, he graduated from Southern Technical Institute. From 1963 thru 2008, he worked for Georgia Crate and Basket Company. He was married to Paula Thompson who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Melody Anne Thompson Edelen of Thomasville, sons, Michael Ray (Mike) Thompson and wife Kathryn of Tampa, FL and Terrell Reneau (Renny) Thompson and wife, Tammy Miller of Thomasville, Rob G. Nix of Tallahassee and Lara Nix Christie of Thomasville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Holly Louise Edelen, Ralph Weschler Edelen, Jr., Michael Ray (Mikee) Thompson Jr., Douglas James (Dougie) Thompson, Madyson Kay Thompson, Melinda Rhea Thompson, Gerald (Jay)and Michala Mastrovito , Toby Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Ashlynne Marion Bailey, Phillip Henry Christie III, Virginia Catherine Christie; great grandchildren, Brody Wilson Blalock, Daniel James Thompson, Holly and Lany Mastrovito. Two brothers and two sisters also survive Mr. Thompson, R.A. (Sonny) Thompson and wife Carolyn of Thomasville, R.L. (Dicky) Thompson and wife Judy of Halleyville, AL, S. Jane Thompson and husband Gary of Plant City, FL, Patricia Thompson Dennis and husband Larry of Summerfield, FL and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his children Dorothy Bulloch Thompson (Dotty). He is also survived by his protectors, Susie and Ben and will be buried with Precious (Bit).
