A two-year-old girl died Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle.

 The girl was struck by a vehicle driven by a relative who did not see her in the driveway of the family home, said Lt. Steven Jones, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office public information officer.

 “It was a horrible, horrible accident,” Jones said.

 The child was struck about 1:10 p.m. in the 2000 block of Summerhill Road.

 “On behalf of every deputy and rescue personnel that responded, our hearts and our prayers go out to this family,” Jones said. “Emergency responders did everything in their power to save the child while rushing her to Archbold Memorial Hospital. The child passed away at the hospital.”

 Troopers from Thomasville Post 12 Georgia State Patrol joined the sheriff’s office in investigating the incident.

 “We concur it was a tragic accident,” Jones said.

 No charges will be filed.
