TCMS hosts inaugural Rubik’s Cube Club competition

THOMASVILLE- Thomas County Middle School recently hosted its first-ever Rubik’s Cube Club Competition for fifth and sixth-grade students, marking the culmination of over six weeks of learning and practice. During this time, students met regularly to develop various strategies for solving the iconic puzzle.
The competition, held during the club’s final meeting, featured eleven students who competed in a bracket-style format to determine the fastest cube solver. The results of the competition were: 1st Place, Minh Nguyen (6th Grade); 2nd Place, Ricky Lackey (5th Grade); 3rd Place, Gary Hilburn (6th Grade)
The event not only highlighted the students’ impressive problem-solving skills but also fostered teamwork and collaboration among them. The Rubik’s Cube Club has proven to be a fun and educational way for students to engage in critical thinking and perseverance.
