James A. Williams

Services for James A. Williams, 61, Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Railroad Avenue in Boston. The Rev. Dellise Cox will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Active pallbearers are nephews and friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Trinity M.B. Church. Mr. Williams died Sept. 22 at Archbold Medical Center. Born May 23, 1943 in Thomas County, Boston, Ga., he was a son of the late Levy and Essie Graham Williams. He attended Thomas County public schools and a member of Trinity M.B. Church of Boston. He was married to Mary Pittman in Thomasville on Oct. 12, 1996, at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. He had lived here for 13 years after moving from Detroit, Mich. Mr. Williams was a disabled laborer. Survivors include his wife, Mary Williams of Thomasville; stepmother, Lessie Williams of Boston; son, James A. Williams Jr. of Detroit, Mich.; stepdaughter, Chaka Tucker (Alonzo) of Fort Valley; sisters, Fannie Moss of Jersey City, N.J., Jean Simmons (Clarence) of Goldsburg, N.C., Patricia Bacon (Jimmie) of Thomasville, Henrietta Williams of Atlanta, Kathleen Mitchell (James) of Thomasville, Pearl Stephens (Terry) of Thomasville; granddaughters, Tatyana Latese Williams of Detroit, Chakia Denise Tucker of Fort Valley; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Williams of Boston; sisters-in-law, Etta Glenn of Boston, Patricia Williams King of Douglas, Gussie Williams of Thomasville; brothers-in-law, Charles Williams (Johanna) of Santa Cruz, Calif., Mannassah Williams (Jocelyn) of Johnson City, Tenn., Felton Williams (Joan) of El Paso, Texas; aunts, Blanche Hill, Lizzie Hill, Jessie Brown (Robert), Mamie Law all of Boston; a host of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends who will forget his legacy. Eunice Miller Collins

Services for Eunice Miller Collins, 86, of Whigham, Ga., are at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004 at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo, Ga. The Rev. Leland Collins, the Rev. Johnny Moore and Dr. Leroy Spinks will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo. Active pallbearers will be Mike Collins, Rick Collins, Russ Collins, Stephen Naso, Jeremy Milliron and Shannon Briggs. Collins died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at her home. Born June 13, 1918, in Whigham, she was the daughter of the late Willie J. and Amanda Dykes Miller. She was the widow of the James M. Collins, who died April 6, 1997. She was a homemaker and beautician and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She moved to Cairo from Attapulgus in 1997 after the death of her husband, James. In Bainbridge, Ga., she was active in the First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James Douglas and Linda Collins of Attapulgus, Ga.; a son, Winton Earl Collins, of Cairo, Ga.; a daughter, Eunice Janet Naso, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Clark Funeral Home in Cairo from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. — Clark Funeral Home
