Services for Elbert Lamar Hill, 51, of Thomasville are at 1 p.m., Feb. 18, 2008, at Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church. Brother Damon Miller of Quitman and the Rev. Garry R. Kerr of First Baptist Church of Keysville will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Active pallbearers are cousins and close friend Johnny Lawry and best friend, Ronald Cain. Mr. Hill died Feb. 12 in Thomasville. Born May 22, 1956, in Pavo, he was a son of Dorothy M. Hill of Thomasville and the late Andrew P. Hill Sr. He was a member of Courtland Avenue Church of Christ in Quitman. He was a truck driver. Survivors include a daughter, Sharonda T. Hill of Tampa, Fla.; granddaughter, Zariya T. Brown of Tampa; mother, Dorothy Mitchell-Hill of Thomasville; sisters, Gladys (Clifford) Dunbar of Thomasville, Merchell Hill of Glen Burnie, Md.; sister, Dorothy (Jackson) Smith of Thomasville; two brothers, Andrew (Rachelle) Hill Jr. of Columbia, S.C., and Bronzell (Deneen) Hill Sr. of Hephzibah; uncle, Otis Mithcell of Orlando, Fla.; aunt, Velma Middleton of Newport News, Va.; uncle, Sam Mitchell Jr. of Thomasville; aunts, Mable Davis of Thomasville, Lucille Mitchell of Cairo; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends and caregivers, Debra Davis and Raleigh McNish. A family hour will be held from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. today.
